Well hello, welcome back, it's been a while.

First thing I want to say is that I've just re-upped the whole damn blog back to 2008, as some kind soul destroyed my previous upload account. Hell for me, but good for you, so feel free to browse all the way back into the previous decade - it's all there ... for now at least.

As always, I love people to comment on the music and say hi, otherwise I may as well just keep it on my computer - so the best way to make me post more than once a year is to chat, and not lurk. This isn't an advertising-run download bonanza site, it's one person sharing music for conversation.

Today's share, Library Rhodes 3,  is a new compilation of library music featuring the ol' electric piano in a series of jazz, funk and bossa style tracks.  The last two volumes of this - Library Rhodes 1 (2010) and Library Rhodes 2 (2011) - were extremely popular, so I hope you enjoy this one as well.

Click the preview players above - they work, but take a few seconds to start.

The music comes from a range of library music labels. There are old favourites like KPM, De Wolfe, Themes International and Amphonic - but also a focus today on Italian library : Fonovideo, Music Scene etc, with a particular focus on composer Oscar Rocchi, both under his own name and his alias 'Chiarosi'. In iTunes, you'll find the names of the source albums for each track in the 'comments' column.

Enjoy it, explore the blog and have fun.
If you like this compilation, check out more rhodes compilations.
See you soon.

I've noticed a lot of the blogs you've refered to in the past have been taken down. If you could refer to any blogs you deem to be great, that would certainly be worthy of awe ( :

On a side note, your site, together with theneedledrop, is the best portals to which through discover music I've encountered

  36. Simon, let me say that I check your blog periodically to see if anything's new, and when I do see something - or see the link on T.U.B.E. that you've posted - my eyes light up because I always know it will be good. Your taste is great and you have a way of picking out the gems I would never find, with the connective thread of the Rhodes.

I am looking forward to DL'ing this comp when I'm off work. Thanks so much Simon!

I'm not sure if comments left on older, re-upped posts are showing up or not (I've left a few since discovering you re-up'ed all this mad joy!!!) - so I wanted to leave a note here that I hope you see, to say THANK YOU for all of this. I'm a fiend for all of this music and am having fun trolling around getting items that had dead links before.

  60. Hi Simon,
It looks like some of the links are down... is it best to leave any requests for re-ups here, or on the individual pages? The two I saw first that I wanted to get are the Erykah Badu and Rose Royce posts.
    Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hi tswift -
I've replaced it with a zippyshare file in the post. All other links are down because the adrive server is, in fact, under maintenance, so the rest will have to wait

All my collections were never to see again. when I tried going back to all my favorite blogs everything was gone..... Are Your collections CD or Vinyl. Are you into production? Thanks again Ali M

    ReplyDelete
  66. Hey Ali - Glad you got some of the music back! :) Re your questions : I do some production but never seem to get it finished :) My comps are not on CD or vinyl, they're just made for this blog. Thanks for commenting! (And thanks everyone else as well).

  68. Thank you very much! I discovered this blog circa 2009 and thought it was awesome but assumed that it didn't survive the crackdown and changes to many of the file hosting sites.

Then I found the NER Comp No.1 last night and decided to check in. :) Good to see you're still going.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Hi Simon, thanks for all of the effort you put into this. Just discovered the site and it's one of my favorite finds of the year. Carry on :)

  72. Found Library Rhodes vol 3 buried in a file on my computer that was downloaded couple of years ago. Liked it so much came back for more today, volumes 1 and 2 plus Latin Rhodes 3. These are among the best vinyl rips I have heard in overall quality. Keep up the good work. My introduction to the Fender-Rhodes was at a Miles Davis concert in 1969, Keith Jarrett I think - HATED IT. Older but wiser now - can't get enough!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Howdy Simon from Austin Texas!

I loved the sparkle of the Rhodes while growing up in the '60s and '70s. It's the sound of my childhood, and finding this very well-written blog is a true treat. Your crisp lossless vinyl rips are a joy for ears around the world; thank you so much for taking the time to do all of this with so much care for detail and quality.

You have great taste in music, and who knows what influence you've had/will have on bands around the world by sharing so much killer funk that's now out of print? The modren world is such a trip...you're over the ocean in Oz feeding music back to where it was made but can't be found.

Kudos for your fine writing as well. You know your music history, and it's so nice to not have to stumble over typos and bad grammar. Truly an exemplary blog.

Thanks a funkload for keeping it flowing: you're a musical brother. K.

  76. Simon--your blog is amazing. Jazz lover and sorta jazz scholar, way upstate where there's no one else around who enjoys this stuff. One question, though: how do I get invited to the various private blogs you reference all over here, e.g. Ileoxumare?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Hi Adam, thanks for your comments. There's been a large 'turnover' or dissolution of music blogs since many of these posts were written, due to spam attacks, legal threats etc. Some people deleted blogs, some just switched them to private in case they decided to bring them back in the future, some just shut down due to lack of interaction from comments just making it all seem like too much hard work. Ile Oxumare, for example, I know is not operating it privately, he's just had enough and will probably just delete at some stage.
