"AFRO RHODES" (Compilation #11)

Rhodes-flavoured afrobeat, afrojazz, afrofunk and afro-whatever performed by a wide array of african musicians, african expatriates, and others like Mongo Santamaria working in an african style. All tracks featuring some sort of electric piano, more jazz at the top, more funk at the end.

And please talk back in the comments ...

  8. glad to offer some help at last ! we're rather dwld-fanatics... but some new posts will be added on our blog before the end of the year.

I recall Umban & WAC is one of the rarest french afro singles : less than 200 copies, unsold items have been lost (probably burnt)!!

  9. Thanks for comments guys.

    @ Reza,
glad you like the cover - lots of photoshop work getting the marimba to "sit" on the rhodes prop@erly and to be able to see through the 'gaps' in it ...

    @ Pal ,
I don't know! Too hard a question. Sunday night and i've drunk too much :)

    @ Hanimex,

  22. Hey, Great to see you're still making hot comps.
I love what you've done for this cover.
As an owner of a rhodes myself, how long have you owned the model whose controls are on the RHS and the bass note starting at E? Extremely rare. I've only ever seen it in photos.
    All the best!
