Re-Upped : 17 Herbie Hancock live shows from the 1970s

This is just to let you know that I've re-upped the 17 Herbie Hancock concerts from the 1970s at the Herbie Hancock 53 Live Bootlegs post from 2008.

Several links there have been replaced with lossless WAV versions as well.

Unfortunately I don't have the time to track down all of the post-1981 concert links, which are almost all dead, but contributions would be very welcome.

The Ultrasonic Studios concert from 1973 has had more downloads than anything I've ever posted here, it's a great show.

Anyway check them out.

Many thanks for all your efforts here Simon666..You know this was one of the first blogs that ever turned me onto jazz on-line..It remains my friend a hard act to follow..This particular post is right up there with any I've ever encountered..Herbie live in the early 70's is an absolute must-hear..Cheers.

You are the MAN, Simon! Whenever I see that you have posted some music I take heed. I've gotten lots of great music from your site, in particular my favorite Gil Scott-Heron boot. Thank you for what you do!

Hi,
thanks for all those wonderful 70ies blogs! What about some of the bootlegs that were up at DrFusion's site. Are they still circulating somewhere?
I mean two of them:
Ottawa Jazz Festival, Ottawa, Canada. June 22nd, 2008
and
Britt Amphitheater, Jacksonville, OR, USA
June 18th, 2007

Younger Herbie is of course much more interesting and the projects of recent years can't be called interesting by any stretch of imagination but for completists they still have some value.

So if you have downloaded them yourself from Dr Fusion blog, can you please make them available somehow?
Thanks!

Hi Purple Yoda -
These 17 re-ups were what I had.

If you can assist at all by uploading any others that you come across, or finding any links and telling us about it, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Many thanks - these are amazing!

Simon666 said...

Hi Supercat -
If it's just a list of your favourite tunes, you should put it in the comments here. If it's actually a collection of tracks/mp3s, you should start a blog at blogspot.com.

Good grief, this is amazing! I've just picked up Bob Gluck's newish book on the Mwandishi Band ("You'll Know When You Get There"), he talks about several of these shows in detail, it's awesome to be able to hear them. Many many thanks.

Belated thanks for these, simon. It's nice to fill in some holes with shows I missed the first time round or just lost along the way. Your work is most appreciated!

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to share my list of favorite EP tunes with you (over 100 songs) if I may.

Disclaimer: this list contains titles featuring EPs (Electric Pianos), most of them are Rhodes but not all. The Rhodes piano is not necessarily always the lead instrument.

There are Jazz, Brazilian, R&B and Soul songs.

Here's the link:

I will keep the list updated under http://somelovelyrhodes.blogspot.ch/

Enjoy!

Could anyone re-up links for the Montreux 1989 Herbie concert please. Originally in FLAC but mp3 would be fine.
